School Visitors

Parents/guardians and other guests of the district are welcome and encouraged to visit TUSD schools. Visitors must respect the learning environment however and maintain proper behavior and decorum. (EC 51512)

  • All visitors shall report to the office and “sign-in” to notify staff they are in the building or on school grounds.
  • The principal or designee shall provide a visible means of identification for all individuals who are not students or staff members while on school premises.
  • Visitors shall return to the office and “sign-out” before leaving the campus.

Disruption of the orderly process of the school is prohibited. In accordance with Penal Code 626.7, the principal or his/her designee is authorized to deny access, ban or bar future access, and remove or request the removal of any visitor whose behavior is disruptive to the educational/ working environment of the school.

Visitors to any of our campuses who have been denied access or who have been asked to leave may schedule an appointment to appeal to the Director of Student Services at (209) 667-0887 daily between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm.

8th Grade Activities and Deadlines


Tuesday, May 10 – Library books due


Tuesday, May 17 - Fines/Textbooks:  All textbooks will be collected Tuesday, May 17th.  All accounts and/or fines (for lost books, library, cafeteria charges, shop or any school property and returned checks) must be cleared in order to participate in the promotion ceremony.  Athletic and music uniforms must be turned in.  Please encourage your 8th grader to be sure all of these areas have been cleared.


Thursday, May 19 - List of Eligible students:  A list of potentially eligible students will be posted.


Monday, May 23 - 8th Grade Golfland Sunsplash Roseville trip:  8th Grade trip for qualifying eighth graders - Buses depart at 8:00 a.m. and will arrive back at the TJHS campus at 6:30 p.m. Ticket sales are April 11 – 22.  Cost is $80.00.         


Tuesday, May 24 – Tickets distributed: Four tickets will be distributed to every student participating in the promotion ceremony.


Friday, May 27 - Promotion Dance:  Promotion Dance for eligible eighth graders only at TJHS, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The cost of the dance ticket is $10.00 and includes food.  Tickets will be on sale May 20, 24 and 25 during the eighth grade lunches. 


Wednesday- Thursday, May 25-26 – Promotion Ceremony Rehearsals @ TJHS:  Students must attend rehearsal in order to participate in the promotion ceremony.

Students will rehearse at Turlock Jr. High and the ceremonies on Friday, May 27th are at Pitman High gym.  As a reminder, balloons, flowers, noise-makers and signs will not be allowed in the building nor will students be allowed to carry any flowers, balloons or gifts during the ceremony.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school office if you have any questions regarding the 8th grade promotion events.


The students will NOT be wearing gowns during the promotion ceremony.  Students must abide by the Turlock Unified School District dress code.  The following dress guidelines are recommended: 

Girls:  Best school clothes – recommend skirt or dress;

Boys:  Best school clothes – recommend slacks, khakis and shirt with collar

2015 - 2016 Bell Schedule

As a result of TUSD’s new Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the identified goals and actions established by all stakeholders, all students in the TUSD will be dismissed early every Wednesday in an effort to provide staff the collaboration time needed to focus on analyzing student learning and adapting instruction to meet students’ needs – for both interventions and enrichment.  Subsequently, the following early dismissal schedule for students at Turlock Junior High School has been implemented:
